There are 3 types of licenses in pilot program
Student Pilot License(SPL)
How to Get a SPL (Student Pilot License)
SPL stands for Student Pilot License. It is the first step towards achieving your dream of obtaining Commercial or Private Pilot License! . After obtaining an SPL that candidates can move forward to advanced licenses like the PPL, CPL and ATPL.
PROCESS
Once prepared, you may contact any Flying School and appear for the SPL exam. It is an oral test and will be held by the Chief Instructor at the School or DGCA representative.
Registration Requirements
Questions testing basic knowledge of subjects like Aviation Navigation, Atmosphere, Aircraft and Engines, Air Regulation and Aviation Meteorology will be asked.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Age
Candidate must be at least 16 years of age, when applying for the license.
Minimum educational qualification
Candidate should have completed 10th board exam from a recognized board.
Medical certificate
Candidate must have Class 2 Medical certificate, Should be medically fit as per the DGCA guidelines.
Private Pilot License(PPL)
How to Get a PPL (Private Pilot License)
PPL stands for Private Pilot License. It is a license that authorizes a person to fly aircraft non-commercially. This means that pilots possessing PPL may fly aircraft, but not get remunerated for flying and carrying people from one place to another.
Flying Experience
Candidate should have at least 40 hours of flying time (as pilot) under his/her belted. Flying training can be obtained from a reputed and recognized flying school.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Age
Candidate must be at least 17 years of age, when applying for the license.
Minimum educational qualification
Candidate should have completed 10th board exam (or equivalent) from a recognized board.
Medical Certificate
Candidate must have Class 2 Medical certificate. Should be medically fit as per the DGCA guidelines.
Commercial Pilot License(CPL)
How to Get a CPL (Student Pilot License)
For getting eligible for Commercial Pilot License, the candidates must complete 200 hours of flying. Passing theory paper is also mandatory to apply for CPL. Therefore; students need to clear the examination conduction by various aviation academics to get trained for acquiring CPL.

Age
The applicant must be at least 16 years of age to begin with the CPL course & for CPL license to be issued the minimum age is 18.
Minimum educational qualification
The applicant must be fluent in English and have passed Class 10+2 standard examinations with Physics & Mathematics as subjects from a recognized Board/ University or its equivalent examination.
Medical certificate
He/she should also possess a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
